“I like the vibrance of the colors. It makes sure that any white wall is infused with a nice bright palette. I also really enjoy the scale of the painting, it almost feels like I’m staring out the window to the mountains when I look at it. I also really enjoy how it makes me feel when I look at it. It feels like a clear, yet crisp fall morning, one where every breath clears your nose with the fresh cool mountain air..”

“I chose to purchase this painting by Susan Brekke because I love the texture that pops off the canvas which creates movement, almost as if wind is blowing across the landscape, there is some iridescent paint used in the sky which I think is so beautiful. I love that the flowers are suggested, but not done with detail and the colors of the painting as a whole just spoke to me.”
-Lisa B Art Collector“Leaving North Dakota was something I swore up and down I would do the second I turned eighteen, and I did exactly that. I went to some exciting places, some not so much, but when I would come home two things struck me: The smell of North Dakota’s dusk after a hot day. Grain and soil linger in the air and it’s the first reminder of home once you step off the plane. The second are unparalleled sunrises and sunsets. Our greatest feature is this gigantic sky. After seventeen years being anywhere else than here(North Dakota), I went to your show at the Taube. I saw “Sunrise from my Window,” with neon oranges, pinks and purples with light blues creeping through and that was my home too, so I brought it home with me.”
